Maybe you found that it is very strange to combine two of different topics in one sentence like you've seen in the title, but I will show you that they were related each other and why I really love both of them.

Industrial Engineering is my major of my undergraduate program at Bandung Institute of Technology and Distance Learning is the main topic of my small research in University of Electro-Communication which is very relevant with my final project topic, Quality Management in Education.

Industrial Engineering is a branch of engineering that concerned with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, material, information, equipment, and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skills in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems

That's why application of Industrial Engineering is very wide in every aspect of science, as long as it concern about an integral system. For example, my final project purpose is to analyze and to improve the high education system in Indonesia from the viewpoint of ISO 9000:2000. That's why I said that there is a significant relevancies between my final project and the small research that I take in UEC. Distance Learning can be such a nice tool to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. With distance learning as method and ISO as one of quality measurement method, qulality of high education system in Indonesia have a large probability to be improved.

I hope my research will be continued, succesful, and beneficial for the education development in my country, for better Indonesia, my beloved country. Amien.
