My Impression of JapanTM

This is my first visit to Japan and I was really looking forward to it. I had read many books and watched documentaries and movies about Japan. So I had some kind of a vision about how could it be like.

Most of the things what I had imagined of Japan have turned about to be true so far. Firstly, the streets are very narrow and quiet. Even if you walk some blocks away from the center of Shinjuku or Shibuya, the streets are tranquil.

The people are sleeping on the trains, even when they're standing. This is of course due to the overworking (in European terms) but why it is even possible - it is so safe. That is one very important point what I love about Japan. You don't have to worry about somebody trying to pickpocket you or steel your bag. Your mind can just rest.

People are extremely polite and friendly. Now I have got used to it, but in the beginning it was even funny. For example, the attitude what the customer receives from the shop attendants is just unbelievable. The amount of cell phones is unreal and the usage on trains and even on the streets is even worse than in Estonia. I thought it couldn't be. But it is.

I have always loved Japanese food and right now I am just enjoying pretty much every meal what I am having. The food is fresh and delicious. But I am missing proteins and especially bread. And of course potatoes.

Tokyo is a wonderful city, with lots of things to do - world class museums, nightclubs, parks, shops, incredible architecture and many beautiful get-aways just near the city. So far, I am enjoying Tokyo and Japan every day. I hope it will continue for the whole year.
