I arrived at Narita airport in 3rd of April and took the airport limousine bus to Shinjuku. I came to UEC from Shinjuku by taxi. It took 20 minutes. When the taxi was going on the way in the university, I felt the atmosphere like in the picture that I have seen before. I came here in the first day of the semester. In the first week, I was surprise that everyone wore suit to go to the university. I think it is very formal because in Thailand, we ware suit only in formal ceremonies, such as graduation ceremony or wedding. The student and the lower position businessmen do not ware suit to go working or studying. Only the high position businessmen ware suit to go working. I think because of Thai weather is so hot, so you cannot ware suit and walk along the street.
In lunch time I alway buy "Bento" because it is fast and easy to buy. I don't have to speak anything. Sometime I eat in the canteen but there is some problem to order for the reason that I can't read Kanji characters. I have to ask someone or remember the Kanji and pick the food label up to show the shop attendant. In case of I forgot the name and I can't find the food label, I alway order "Gyuudon" , rice with meat, or "Katsukare" , rice with fried pork. In dinner, I always cook at the domitory or go to eat Gyuudon at a shop called Yoshinoya.
And I am surprised that there are many sport class in the university. In Thailand, if your major is not sport, you don't have sport classes. In here I joined into Judo class. I think it is a good chance for me to practice a Japanese sport in its original country. In this class, the teacher teach in Japanese. Although I can't understand what teacher said, my classmate explain me and I follow them.
The university life in Japan is different from Thailand's, but it is so interesting.
