Hakone...the onsen with snow and monkeys?
This is the first far-away place I went to in search of my kouyou. Its a really famous place, cus its close to fuji mountain (I was waay outta tokyo this time), and has nice Onsens, and natural forestry, plus a massive lake.
Have plenty to say, but not the energy to do so. We bought an all you can ride ticket for 5000 yen, around 70 bucks. And that includes cable cars, ferry ride, chair lifts, trains and buses, so it turned out to be a big bargain. Except seeing as the ticket lasts for 3 days,
and there is so much to do in Hakone, naturally we decided to stay an extra night. Only problem was that we were too tight on the wallet to even cash out 100 bucks for the hotel that night (we really only planned for it to be a cheap one day trip). In the end we
went to a resturant which was opened until 1am, then headed to the karaoke until 5am. I figured I could just sleep on the sofas there, but we ended up singing till 5. Was absolutely buggered for site-seeing on the following day...Our train even stopped in front of us,
stayed there for a minute, before it closed its doors and left, all the while we just sat there gazing at it. Not that we were too tired to get up and catch it, or that we were too tired to realise thats our train...our minds were just out in space, and we forgot the reason we were
sitting there in the first place was to wait for a train. Eh, but its all good...img1088/1089 was the site we were treated to at 8am near the top of the mountain. Clouds floating slowly out to the sea below us, that was pretty spectacular I thought. Ugh, sore back (~愛してるなんて言わなかった~~~)Sam(17.12.03) |
