My First Impression of Japan
When I think about my first couple of days living in Japan, I can't help but think that I am very lucky. I landed in Tokyo in the beginning of April, just days before the Sakura trees lost their delicate petals. As my plane touched the runway dozens of the Sakura trees whizzed past my window. The iridescent trees were my first impressions of Japan, and I feel that they were a good indicator of how the start of my life in Japan was going to be. The Sakura represent so much to the Japanese people, and I feel that any culture that can instill so much faith and respect in a tree; is inherently good. My initial feeling was correct about the Japanese people, because in my following days in Japan I received the type of kindness that is difficult to be faked. No matter where I was, or what I was doing, everyone I met was naturally polite and courteous. I could tell immediately that the quality of goods, service, and life in Japan is extremely high. Japan is such a harmonious place, and I look forward to exploring the country more.
