The University of Oklahoma
The university I attend back home is The University of Oklahoma, or simply put, OU. OU is a state university that was founded as early as 1890. According to OUfs Public Affairs office, "OU enrolls almost 30,000 students, has more than 2,300 full-time faculty members, and has 20 colleges offering 154 majors at the baccalaureate level, 160 majors at the masterfs level, 85 majors at the doctoral level, 39 majors at the first professional level, and 18 graduate certificates. The universityfs annual operating budget is $1.3 billion." WOW! Right? Not only that but The Princeton Review ranks my university among the best in the nation in terms of academic excellence and to cost for students. But enough about academics, OU also has a gorgeous campus. Buildings are surrounded with a number of various outdoor areas for student use. We have open grass areas for sports and games, fountains, flowerbeds, walkways and benches galore. There is nothing better then taking a study break leaned up against one of the many trees and listening to trickling water. Another thing OU is famous for is its sports teams. Football is a huge college sport in the United States, and the Sooners are nationally ranked. Our stadium can hold over 80,000 fans, and does so nearly every Saturday of the fall semester.
