MT. FUJI
Well I think this page is pretty self-explanatory but I'll give a running commentary anyway.
The other 4 fools I decided to undertake this stupid adventure with: Deryck, Me, Elspeth (friend of Deryck who was on holidays in Japan, Mim and Tymon. This is us on the bus ride to fuji and a shot of us just before we started off, stocking up on coke.
2 photos above: The famouse "asahi" or morning sun that Mt. Fuji is so well know for.
Ofcourse Mt. Fuji is a volcano so naturally it requries a crater. I'm not sure whether all that steam is an indication of anything.
Mim and Elspeth finding things very cold at 4 in the morning. Ofcourse by this stage the rain had stopped but the wind was still in force.
If there was one good thing about climbing Mt. Fuji, it was the view - if you could withstand the wind long enough to have a look.
Coming down was much faster - only 2.5hrs compared to 4hrs up. We also got to see people still climbing which meant they had missed out on the sun rise from the top - suckers!
A couple of photos of the descent. We were just happy to be getting off the mountain.
Finally, a shot of the monster we conquered. Also a shot of the bus stop where we waited for something like 3hrs for the bus.
