This course must be taken concurrently with the course gCommunication System Laboratory.h

This course discusses in depth how digital and analog communication

systems work. The basic tools used in this course are waveform

analyses. All signals discussed in this course are deterministic

signals. Introduction to digital modulation is also included. Topics taught in this course are

1) Fourier spectrum analysis,

2) Autocorrelation function,

3) Power spectrum,

4) Line coding,

5) Roll-off filters,

6) Various types of modulation,

7) Experiments on threshold effects.

Assessment Policy is as follows.

Attendance rate (10%), scores in Lab class (10%), Midterms(20%), Final examination(60%)
