Last week the Australian PM, John Howard mad a state visit to Japan, and so a
few of us went along to make him feel welcome. Here is the 'State House'
which is used for such visits (with Ben in the foreground)
The PM inspecting the military and the band
The man himself
The people from the Australian Students Society and Japanese Australian
Students Society who atended on the day
...and of course me!!
Chofu and Dentsudai...
I decided to take some photos of stuff around here in Chofu, and of course the uni as well...
There is just no escaping the golden arches!! This is the maccas on the way
from the station to uni, about a 3 minute walk from the front gate and where
I had lunch on the first day that I arrived. The scary thing is that there is
a maccas closer to the uni than this one!!
This is the big bicycle parking lot near the uni and the shops, the scary thing
is that its a Sunday, so its actually not very crowded
This is the footpath from uni down to the station and the shops, once again its
actually not very crowded...
This is Tenjin Street (Tenjin-dori), which is apparently reasonably famous or
something, seen here in festival mode. This is also the scene of many a late
night Barry-Barry.
This is how local councils in Japan save on mowing costs, dont have any grass!!
All parks around here are like this, just dirt and gravel
The uni as seen on the walk from the station
The main road in the uni
Some building in the uni which has a good view
