Post Office

Post offices (which display 〒and/or JP mark) are conveniently located in each neighborhood. In addition to the delivery of mail, they offer other services, such as banking (Japan Post Bank) and insurance. Post office service hours are generally from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (until 4:00 p.m. for banking and insurance services), and they are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. Some major branches of the Japan Post have a special window” Yuyu Madoguchi” for collecting parcels or posting letters.

Stamps and postcards are available at post offices, as well as shops displaying the postal mark 〒. Mailboxes are also conveniently located on street sides.

Furthermore, the ATMs of post offices accept bank cash cards and credit cards issued overseas. For more information, please see Section "Credit Cards and Bank Cash Cards".
