The UEC is a university which offers to its students very appropriated
installations for their academic and extra-academic activities.
This university has a high-performance academic staff, who
in some cases has international prestige in research and technological
innovation.
The UEC’s installations offers a set of services
for its students and professors for a comfortable and successfully
academic work, some of those I can mention:
Computing Center
Library
Bicycle Parking Zones.
University Center (Store and Restaurants)
Health Center
International Student Center
Foreign Students Dormitory
Native Students Dormitory
About the Research Laboratories, the most of
those are well equipped and offer to the students a good place
for do their research work. In my case, I am working at Ohta-Kunihiro
Laboratory, which is a very nice place for work and open discuss
about cryptography related topics.
For obvious reasons, the most of the students
are Japanese people, so the most of the classes and seminary
meetings are in Japanese language, but for foreign students,
there are some professors who teach some classes in English,
and they like to discuss with the students in English, that
is very nice for me.
In addition to the academic facilities, the UEC provides to its students with complementary facilities for they extra-academic activities, such as:
Circle facilities building
Gym
Pool
Tennis court
Music rooms
Smoking Zones
I think that facilities contributes to a provide a wide-sense education for the UEC students, thing that a like to much.
In sum, I like too much this university, but I don’t understand some things (may be related to the Japanese culture or life-style) like: why there are only a few girls at postgraduate courses? or why the most Japanese students don’t discuss with their professors at the class, but that things are estrange only for me.
