My First Impression of Japan
When I arrived to Narita airport on April 2nd 2012, I was very nervous because I didn't understand Japanese language but even before I arrived to japan, the airline I was using, there was many Japanese people and I really get impressed because the employer was very kind, and when I went to Japan's migration it wasn't different. Then airport staff was already waiting for me, she spoke English very well so I hadn't any problem to talk with her.
The Miss guided us to buy a bus ticket to Chofu. Then in the bus I noticed that the steering wheel is on the opposite side compared to Mexico. In the bus I had the opportunity to talk with JUSST students (now my friends) that come for exchange program too. We had a lot of time to talk because from Narita airport to Chofu its about 2 hours but really we were a little tired, in my case from Mexico to Japan it took 15 hours so we slept some time.
When we arrive to Chofu, our Mexican friends was already waiting for us, and I was really happy because you know when you are in a place that you have not ever seen and all you see, you cannot understand and suddenly when you see someone you know, it’s like you get a good feeling. They started to say that we were their “kohais” and in that moment I didn’t know the meaning. But this word it is used to describe the relationship between some person which is under your care. The word that the Japanese people used to express respect a superior is "Senpai".
Now I have lived some months in Japan, there are some amazing concepts that I have, the first and more important to me is that Japanese people are very kind and really I would not have believed that all the people are in this way and they are also organized, and they try to never arrive late for a meeting.
