The 1st International Exchange Lecture Held

On January 28, 2010, CIPE took great pleasure in welcoming Professor Jie CHEN from Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences as our first lecturer for International Exchange Lecture at Multi-purpose Hall, Building P.  He spoke on research and development trends in China.

Starting with his exciting grad days, assistant and then associate professor days as he struggled in performing his research projects all at UEC, Prof CHEN gave a series of humorous yet thought-provoking episodes.  He talked about subjects of his recent research and involvement in venture business, revealing the issues of China in present and his own vision of China in future.  The lecture was closed with courteous acknowledgement to Professor Shuichi ITOH, his respected teacher and a former faculty of Graduate School of Information Systems, that brought the curtain down in touching manner to participants.  Among the participants were a numbers of faculty members, students and such with close ties to Prof CHEN.  Reunited at the site, their thoughts took them back in time to when and how they had come into each others' lives.

The international exchange lectures will be continuously held to serve its purpose of improving internationalization in UEC.  Specialists or researchers from overseas staying in Japan will be invited to lecture on various subjects concerning international exchange.
