I'm currently an undergraduate from the University of Queensland studying a dual degree in arts and engineering. For engineering I major in software designs, and for arts I study Japanese, which is my main reason for coming to Tokyo in the first place. I've been asked this a lot, so maybe I should just post this up onto the internet and help avoid being asked again, 'I don't know why I study Japanese, but to me its interesting so I've continued with it'. I also don't know how it will relate to my future work either. However, in leading me to Tokyo this year can't be too bad, since its been one of the quickest and most unique month I can recall. With my engineering degree, I have not as yet studied anything too specialised.Mainly because eventhough I'm a third year, I've spent at least half of my time on Japanese. Also another reason is because in the first year, all engineers in UQ are required to do courses which is meant to be useful in all fields of engineering. So keeping all this in mind, I've still not done too much in my engineering major (Software), and I don't know what it is about software that I will specialise in. What I can say is that right now; program designs, systems anaylsis and also specifications design seems to be more my thing. I guess I'll find out in a few years time... hopefully. Index |
