University of Queensland is honestly quite a beautiful univeristy. The 'Great court' situated at the heart of the campus is a spacious grassed area, surrounded by massive stone buildings, makes quite a nice seating spot to have lunch. In contrast my engineering department has the steriotypical feel of engineers, economical use over beauty in design. I only say this because my first impression of the entrance to the Hawkin building was that it looked like the entrance to a massive car-park (I'm not the only one!) . I'd also like to point out that theres a wonderful cafe in the university called the 'Wordsmiths Cafe', with friendly faces and nice service.

Besides this, the university has more than 30000 students, thus offering a wide range of studies. As well as this it has great facilities both for educational purposes and for recreational use. Overall UQ is big, its friendly, and its a nice place to be.
