Steps that I
used to build my pc
|
Step 10. Prepare the punchout access ports The motherboard has cable connectors for the keyboard, mouse, serial, parallel and USB ports, etc. These connectors are accessed through punchout holes in the case. In most cases, when you buy a retailed motherboard, you will get its punchout from the manufacturer too. Replace it with the punchout originally attached on the case as shown in Photo 15.
Photo 15. Replace new punchout with the original. Step 11. Prepare to install the mother board in the case The motherboard will be installed on standoffs in the base of the case. Photo 16 shows standoffs in the case. Phot 16 also shows a location where an extra standoff can be installed. Extra standoffs are necessary to provide support in areas of high potential mechanical stress on your motherboard, like the are where circuit cards, memory and main power supply are inserted. Photo 16. Extra standoffs in the case Step 12. Install motherboard on standoffs and tighten screws Install the motherboard using the screws taht were supplied with your case as shown in Photo 17. Be careful in this step. Try not to make a damage to your motherboard by overtightening the screws or droping the driver on it. Photo 17. Install motherboard on standoffs and tighten screws. @ |
