::: First Impression of UEC :::

My first impression of UEC is from the international students. They are very friendly to the newcomers. ISO staff and other senior JUSST student was very helpful. They picked us up from the Chofu station and helped us bring our luggage.

They escorted us to International Student Office to meet Sasaki-san. At the office Sasaki-san gave us a envelope with many papers inside it and our room key. I get 402. That will be my room for the next one year.

I think maybe not much Japanese people know UEC, they only know DENKI TSUUSHIN DAIGAKU or DENTSUDAI (UEC's name in Japanese). When I chat with my friend that lived in Suzuka, he didn't know what University of Electro-Communications is. After few moments explaining to him, he said "ah DENTSUDAI". So just remember you are "dentsudai student" when you tell someone what's the name of your japanese university.

UEC campus is small compared to my home university, but it has more tall building than my home university. This university has big population of birds, especially dove and crow. The crows sometimes make a lot of noise at night.

Our dormitory (International House) is located inside UEC campus. When I first entered my room, I was surprised by the furniture. There are air conditioners, refrigerator, stove, bookshelf, desk and a multifunctional small bathroom. A moment later I realized a small insect pass by. A small cockroach. I must find some cockroach extinguisher to send them to heaven. Another thing at this dorm is I haven't seen any ants in my dorm since I came to Japan. Where are they?
