My home university is ITB. ITB is stand for Institut Teknologi Bandung, but if translated to English become Institute of Technology Bandung. It was founded on March 2, 1959. The history of ITB dated back to 1920 when the Technische Hogeschool Bandoeng was established by the Dutch. If you go to ITB, you might see some student wear shirt "ITB - since 1920" During the Japanese occupation, the name is changed to Kogyo Daigaku. After Indonesian independence, the campus housed the technical faculty of Universitas Indonesia, with the head office in Jakarta. Later in 1959, the name change to ITB.

ITB has many important alumnies. Indonesian first president, Soekarno, who is also Indonesian's founding father was a student at Civil Engineering department. Habibie (Indonesian's third president) was also a student at Mechanical Engineering department before he decided to study at RWTH Aachen. So until now two out of six Indonesian presidents was student of ITB. ITB is also one of the top five private university in Indonesia, and it is considered the best university in engineering fields in Indonesia.

Our campus is located at Ganesha street number 10. Ganesha is ITB logo.In every report in ITB you will see Ganesha logo. Ganesha is the elephant-headed god from Hinduism. He is the god of knowledge in Hindu mythology.
