::: Research :::

In UEC, I am belong to Aoyama Laboratory from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical System. This laboratory is focused on Desktop Micro Robot Factory. In this laboratory my research is about micro hopping robot. It will have two DC motors to control its movement.

The long-term objective in the laboratory is for creating micro hopping robot for disaster survivor detection. The micro hopping robots, which UEC is under contract to develop for AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory) is developed in Aoyama Laboratory. Application for the robots is for rapid location of survivors of collapsed buildings from natural disasters and terrorist attacks. Owing to the small size of the robots, they should be able to penetrate rubble better and faster than larger robots or even trained dog or human.
