In the TUT I'm studying Gene Technology and after return to Estonia I hope to graduate from TUT with bachelor's degree. So before coming UEC I have been studying lot of different kind of biologies, chemistry and genetics, besides that mathematics, physics and computer science (I especially love last three ;).
Before leaving Estonia I did a short-term practice in Neurobiology lab and it was interesting and after return I will do there research for my graduation work. Although I'm still interested in this area, I'm not so sure that my place is in the lab. So don't worry, I have no intention to clone more sheep Dollies.
I love working with people and since I have one older dream too...Once I wanted to become a lawyer, I'm thinking of connecting them in my future, we will see how it's going to work out. I also like medicine and psychology and who knows how this is going to influence my decisions about my career.
In Japan I'm conducting small research in Electro-Physiology lab and I'm guided by kind prof. Tadashi Nakamura. I'm working with blow-flies and testing their responses to different chemical solutions. The method that we use is sensory hair tip recording so we are measuring electrical impulses induced in chemoreceptors while it's sensing solution with their tarsal or labellar hair.
